This past Friday I found myself 2 hours from home, sitting on very hard wooden bleachers in a high school gymnasium. Why you may ask? Two words – wrestling tournament.
As the day progressed, all I could think was “the things I do for this kid!” As most parents and caregivers will agree, we make sacrifices for our kids and families because we want to do it for them. Friday was no different. I didn’t really want to spend the day at a gymnasium but I did it because it was important to my son and I wanted to show support.
On the way home, it occurred to me that this one day with the team was an example of living abundantly.
Live Abundantly Flourish Thrive
What do I mean by living abundantly? No, sitting on the bleachers for 8 hours was not living abundantly. But driving the team to the tournament was; visiting a Trader Joe’s for a bathroom break on the way home was definitely living (teenage boys in a subterranean grocery store? priceless!).
Break it Down
Living abundantly, flourishing, thriving looks different to each person. Universally, living abundantly means putting fear aside to experience all the delights life has for each of us, every day and any where — even on the road to a wrestling tournament.
Grab life and live it!
Seek & experience adventure — whatever it is!
Laugh often! Laugh out loud, alone, & with others.
Explore your world – explore outside your world – just EXPLORE!
